When we found out we were moving back to Opelika, I started looking to see where I thought was a good neighborhood for us to live. We moved from Opelika 23 years ago. To say it has changed is an understatement. As a Realtor I started doing research on the builders, neighborhood, floor plans and location. We loved our floor plan of the last home we built. Stone Martin had a floor plan where the layout was almost exactly like the one we had. But it also had things that we had decided was really important to us when we built in Opelika. So we started the process of building. We had a great experience. We were able to watch our home being built so we were pleased with the work being done. The whole process was very smooth. We have lived in our home for three months and we are so happy with the choices we made and with everything about our home. We are very happy with the workmanship of our home. We are very happy we chose Stone Martin as our builder. We don’t plan to ever build again but if we did, I would not hesitate to use stone Martin Builders again. Thank you SM for building us a beautiful home that we will enjoy with our family for many Many years to come!

My experience with stone Martin builder was great from day one with sales. Through the process of the build our experience with Cullin was fantastic as well. The trim throughout the house is very poor. We had asked and put blue tape on most of it. We feel most of the tape was just removed and the problem never fixed. Joseph didn’t seem to pleased with the amount of blue tape we were putting on the problems. The other problem began when our concrete was poured. Our front porch and our back porch looked terrible like somebody had ran a grinder across it. When I moved in, I had to have an epoxy finish put on that concrete just to make it presentable for my home. That cost almost $5000. Prior to closing we had shown the concrete company and Beck how the driveway had looked very poor. Now as time has gone on the driveway continues to get worse and worse. I have sent off two emails through Buildertrend now without a single response. I’m going to wait a few more days for a response before I take the next step.

The concrete could be improved. It does not look clean. The concrete and sidewalks are not clean of puffy that was used in the brick. They also have signs of red dirt!I was really disappointed also in the concrete in the garage. It has issues along bottom of walls. The concrete does not look clean!

From beginning to end, we’ve had a great experience with Stone Martin Builders. The sales and selection process was helpful and informative and gave us confidence that we were making the right decision. Communications during the building process kept us updated and in the loop. Overall, we've been pleased with the experience.

Overall great experience. My only complaint is there needs to be room for more customization for instance I wanted a bigger patio, and spray foam above garage ceiling and was told no that has to be done after closing. Now I’m left trying to do this in a brand new house without messing up any of the other finishes.
