Review of Overall Experience

It was a wonderful experience building our first home with Trico. From Sales to Design to Construction and Possession, every team offered exceptional service and showed great professionalism. It was an incredible experience!.

Review of Overall Experience

Communication with sales team was inconsistent and resulted in gaps in information that would have benefitted us early on in the building process. There were multiple occasions where we asked if something was possible or not (ex. adding/moving an outlet) and received contradicting answers from different people. The actual construction process felt very rushed especially during the walk through when so many things were incomplete. Even though most things were corrected by possession date, we feel the quality of the work suffered due to them rushing.

Review of Overall Experience

Just wanted to clarify that my entire review is based on home quality, it's not reflection of sales representative's professionalism. Such a poor build quality/finish for a $870k price tag, at some places it appears DIY grade work and not professional grade work. It appears as if Trico used sub-standard contractors for building this house than they used for their show homes. We noticed poor workmanship on the day of walk-through and we highlighted it, the response was "It's just the DAP/paint". Here are some cosmetic things that we found within a couple of days of living in the house: - Pretty much all the door corners are chipped, indicating rough handling during installation. And then ignored by painters - Sagging door(s), kitchen cabinet doors issues - Over all paint finish on railing and baseboard (e.g. lack of prep-work required for paint on rail/posts/trims, dripping paint marks) - Poor paint clean up, I can see paint stains on railing metal spindles and floors - It looks like baseboards were hand painted instead of spray painted My parents' were here and they had not seen a brand new house in Calgary before, they noticed the quality and said to me "Your 14 year old house has better finish and quality than this new house, why did you spend so much money". I didn't know how to respond. And here are a couple of structural things that I am not sure these can even be fixed - Kitchen island vibrates when someone walks near by, utensils on counter can be clearly seen vibrating, making noise - The floor in the office creeks when someone enters the room - Rain water enters into garage from under the garage door (we're told that this is under threshold)

Review of Overall Experience

Once they sold out the home, they are not responsible for anything. From booking a house, until moving in and post posession, if I had an option to rate 0.5, I would do that. First they provided wrong info for getting the tiled shower. Second, they did not inform us that it will be angled tv wall. Third, they messed up our exterior color selections without informing us. Fourth, they messed up the ensuite bathroom selection. Fifth, the house was not clened even after walkthrough, during possession., the defects were not resolved, still not resolved. The staples from the carpets were off the carpet and my nephew and neice (1 year old), as well as some other guests got hurt and bleeded. We still don’t have our water filter for which we paid extra freaking $1300 bucks. They are not even giving us an update on that. The entrance door is off, they are not coming to fix that as well. For the dent on the stove, during walkthrough, Trevor told hs that he will reach out to trail and get it fixed, he did not do that and lied that Trail mentioned that is how it was manufactured. We called the whirlpool and they were able to replace the parts within a week, no questions asked. The backsplashes had the white powder all over, it was not cleaned during possession. The paint stains all over the floor, bathrooms, everywhere, we were told it will be cleanedby the possession day, it wasn’t. There are some huge defects in the bathroom cabinets, still not fixed. There are clear dents on the walls, and not painted walls correctly, but they are not ready to claim that. The quality is worst for the overall house and service, and this wil be the same review I will post it on google to aware other buyers from trico that they are making us fool. They gave us the reimbursement for the tile selection of bathrom that they messed up, the cheque is still not mailed out and it’s been 15 days already. Trico - quality and service wise is 0 and disgusting. I would not suggest anyone to buy from them.

Review of Overall Experience

Experience was good overall. I wouldn’t say I was made to feel like an exceptional customer but I certainly also didn’t feel like I was just a number

It was our first time buying a preconstruction house. Trico was very helpful and guided us throughout the whole process.

Review of Overall Experience

Overall our experience was okay. Sales team were great and responsive, especially Erica and Dave. Design centre was a bit overwhelming at first but we had enough time and made multiple trips down. The staff were not necessarily knowledgeable of what all the options were as every time we went we were presented with new options. Build process was good, would recommend paying multiple visits if you can. During our pre possession we discovered a few major errors which were corrected. However, our post possession seemed to be a lot worse than our neighbours. The inside and outside of our home wasn’t cleaned, a few items noted on the pre possession walkthrough were not complete (and still aren’t to this day..), furnace was full of drywall dust and some vents had bits and pieces of wood and drywall in them, we had marks on the floors we couldn’t get off; all minor but things you’d expect to looked after before you move in. Overall experience was positive up until the last month.

Review of Overall Experience

Where do I begin? The overall experience with the Trico team, in particular, the ones at the Cochrane Trico team was awful, terrible and insulting. The sales changed their attitude towards their customers after the purchase is done. And the house was a rush built house with poor finishing here and there. Very rude responses from the Sales team when we pointed out that there are flaws about the interior of the house. I was told to be a person who focuses sole on trivial matters while I was simply complaining about the poor finishing for the houses, and how the issues persisted even after we have brought to the attention of both the sales team and the construction manager. Until this day, there is still some issues remaining. We were ignored by the sales contact person after the possession of the house, for unknown reason. Lack of proper communication when there are still lots of residual works need to be done for our house: we don't get any update about the progress of the residual works, for example, what has been done already and what are going to be done in the future dates, even after we have requested. The sales contact person Gwenn is a two faced person, who focuses more on how to cover her ass, rather than actual customer services. The sale contact person even complained to me being very upset and claiming that she was extremely disappointed while I told her I might delay closing on the house. Delaying closing on the house is not unusual, and I was able to close on time. But the sales contact person attempted to delay releasing the keys to us, while we have fulfilled our responsibility to close on time. After I have approached her with strong tone on my request, then the keys were released right away. The house is poorly finished: very poor painting on the side of the wall, and poorly attached siding for staircases, and main bedroom's ensuite bathroom has big gap between the bottom of the cabinet and the floor and wall, leaving space for moisture to enter. And the issue persists even after customer complaint. Overall the experience was very poor. Bad representation on Trico homes. The house is definitely far from what is showing in the brochures and pamphlets. The construction manager is making excuses here and there when approached, and even tried to downplay the issues presented upon possession date.
