Overall, we love our floor plan and we like 90% of the finishes on our home. After closing, we have had to spend a lot of money out of pocket to right some serious wrongs like the cabinetry in this house (costing over 100k to fix this). Had it not been for having such a nice sales guy/contact and a caring builder/construction manager, plus a lot we loved and floor plan that we couldn’t find elsewhere… we likely would have walked. We had some real unpleasantness with corporate/mortgage side of kindred that did not make us feel like valued customers and some additional issues with design center that reflected that same lack of value and attitude. David and Paul both made up for that in spades but it’s a good thing they did. Once we fix our home and take out a second mortgage to fix the blemishes on this otherwise lovely home, we will feel a lot better but we don’t feel great about spending 700k + on a home to then have to turn around and sink a small fortune into make it what it should have been all along. I said I would recommend kindred to others but it would be with a few choice caveats in the mix, so they understand that it wasn’t the ideal experience that it could have been. In a time when homeownership is reaching unattainable levels, it would be smart to make sure that potential homeowners who have buying power feel valued and appreciated by ALL involved, not just their sales professional and construction manager.
A really stress free home buying experience. Kindred made every effort to accommodate our closing to coordinate our move in.
